Adobe has introduced new Adobe XD features, adding the ability to guest comment and import SVG images to XD documents, among others. The new update is part of Adobe’s series of improvements for the UX design tool every month.
The updated Adobe XD now lets you submit feedback on shared prototypes of products without signing in with your Adobe ID. The new feature helps designers collaborate across diverse platforms more easily. Adobe notes that the latest update makes it easier for reviewers to provide feedback as a guest, meaning there’s no login requirement. Adobe says:
When designers send their shared prototypes to stakeholders, the stakeholders no longer need to sign-in with an Adobe ID to leave comments. Instead, stakeholders can leave comments as a guest. This should make gathering design feedback in one place a lot easier.
In the future, we will continue to make additional enhancements to the review process including pinning of comments to the art board and email notifications.
Additionally, Adobe’s update brings new UI kits with it, which cover Apple’s iOS, Google’s Material Design, and Microsoft’s Windows. The kits also include navigation elements, text fields, and keyboards to help speed up the design process. You can access the UI kits via the hamburger menu.
To add SVG images to an XD document, you need to drag and drop the photos on the canvas or use the import functionality that’s available via the application’s hamburger menu. This new ability lets you transfer assets from other design tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, or Sketch.
The update also allows you to add grids to an XD art board. Grids help you align objects and text to guides. Objects align with the grid automatically when the grid detects the object’s edges. Grids also provide measurement ideas while laying out objects or text on your art boards, Adobe says.
All these new changes are available to Adobe Creative Cloud customers on Windows 10 via the Creative Cloud.
