As we already know, Microsoft has released the Edge beta version for Linux confirming a stable launch later in 2021.

For many users with a Chrome OS device, using all the Google services is of course the way to go since the operating system is built around the Chrome browser.

However, in case you simply want to test another browser, you can now install Microsoft Edge. Although it is not officially supported on Chrome OS you can install the Linux version that was released in beta.

Regardless of the reason behind trying out Microsoft Edge, testing it out is not a bad thing and the steps you need to do in order to using it are simple.

Install Microsoft Edge on Chrome

  • Go to the Microsoft Edge Insider page.
  • Next click on the More platforms and channels option.
  • Scroll down the page and click on the download icon under Linux(.deb).
  • Next, select if you want the Edge Beta or Edge Dev.
  • Now, go to Settings and click on Advanced.
  • Select Developers and go to the Linux development environment (Beta).
  • In here click on the Turn on option.
  • Make sure to follow the on-screen instructions to set up the Linux environment.
  • Once done, open the Microsoft Edge installation file you downloaded.
